The PocketBible Young’s Literal Translation (YLT) 1.0 is a plug-in program for the PocketBible for Windows application that provides users with a virtual library with which they can store their collection of PocketBibles, Books, and other Bible study materials. This plug-in is part of that collection.
The PocketBible Young’s Literal Translation (YLT) 1.0 is a transcription of a translation of the Holy Bible into English, which was first published in 1862. Young’s is noted to by scholars to be closer to the original Hebrew texts than many other translations. The words of Christ are emphasized in red. Young’s translation is a strictly literal translation from the original Greek and Hebrew texts and the translator uses the present tense in many places where other translators have used the past, particularly in narratives. Readers of this work will discover that PocketBible software version strictly adheres to Young’s translation and is a literal transcript of the printed version allowing readers to discover the translation for themselves.
The PocketBible Young’s Literal Translation (YLT) 1.0 plug-in integrates with the PocketBible for Windows and cannot be run on its own. The host features word study tools and if readers hover their mouse over any Strong’s number, they can view a transliteration and definition of the original language word.
